Dr. Miranda Wong, D.D.S.

General Dentistry

Dr. Miranda Wong obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan. She then completed a two year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA, where she had extensive training in surgeries and hospital dentistry. She had been associating in various clinics before she established her own private practice in Markham, Ontario. Dr. Wong has a passion in doing cosmetic dentistry and enjoys providing care to children.

In her spare time, Dr. Wong enjoys playing music, tennis and travelling. 

Dr. Astor Cheng

Dr. Astor Cheng received her Honors Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and graduated with her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  After practicing in the U.S., she decided to return home to Toronto where she provides quality dental care to families of Markham and Scarborough area. Dr. Cheng enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and providing care to all ages.  She believes in treating all her patients with patience and compassion, and she takes her time to make sure they receive the best quality treatment they deserve. Dr. Cheng is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.

Besides her passion for dentistry, Dr. Cheng enjoys fitness training, traveling, and trying different cuisines from all over the world.

Dr. Chih-Ping Chen, DDS, DSc, CAGS, FRCD©

Dental Endodontics

Born in Taiwan, Dr. Chih-Ping Chen graduated from the National Defense Medical Center (NDMC) in Taipei with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1986. Dr. Chen was awarded the Silver Study Medal from the Ministry of National Defense (MND) and was appointed to serve his Alma Mater NDMC after graduation. Upon receiving a government scholarship for study in USA (1994-1998), Dr. Chen followed Dr. Herbert Schilder, best known for his warmed GuttaPercha vertical compaction technique, to learn the Schilderian principles of cleaning and shaping the root canal system.

Dr. Chen received his Certificate in Endodontics (CAGS, 1996) and degree of Doctor of Science (DSc, 1998) in Dentistry from Henry Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Boston University. When he returned to continue his services at NDMC and TSGH, Dr. Chen was awarded the Gold Study Medal from the MND and promoted as Chairman of Department of Endodontics in 2002. To improve the success rate of root canal treatments, he taught the Schilderian and MicroEndodontic techniques to local dentists across Taiwan. In 2007, Dr. Chen retired from the military and moved to Toronto with his family. He became a Fellow of Royal College of Dentists of Canada [FRCD(C)] in 2011. Dr. Chen now dedicates his expert services to the people in the Greater Toronto Area.

In his leisure time, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities like hiking, camping, sailing, scuba-diving, and especially enjoys a game of golf.

Dr. Hsiao Wei Chou, DDS 

Dental Periodontics

Dr. Hsiao-Wei Chou received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Chung-Shang Medical and Dental College in Taiwan. She has worked in at Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Hospital and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan and has lectured in schools in Taiwan and China. Dr. Chou received specialized training in Advanced Periodontics and Dental Implants from National Taiwan University. Dr.Chou is affiliated with the scientific associate in the Graduate Program of Periodontology and Oral Implantology at the National Taiwan University. She was the assistant director of the International Affair of Taiwan Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Chou professional certification and licensing include: Periodontal diplomat of Taiwan Academy of Periodontology, Periodontal certificate at National Taiwan University, Canadian National Dental Board Certified, and Taiwan National Dental Board Certified. Dr. Chou is an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration, ITI Foundation, and American Academy of Perio5ontology. She won the best award in clinical research at the Taiwan Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Chou currently dedicates her services to the people in the Greater Toronto Area.

In her spare time, Dr. Chou enjoys traveling, swimming, and dancing.

Dr. Michael Chow 

Dental Anaesthesia

Dr. Michael Chow holds a Masters in Dental Anesthesiology and is one of the few dentists in our province who holds a board certified specialty status in this area of expertise. Dr. Chow graduated from the University of Toronto in 2000. In 2008, he enrolled in three years of training in the Masters Dental Aanesthesia program. This program involves major rotations at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto East General Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, and Sunnybrook Hospital. He was awarded the Tom Lykos Memorial Scholarship by the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto.

In addition to providing dental and anaesthetic care for patients at the MetroSquare Dental Clinic, Dr. Chow has always been involved with clinical education at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. He currently teaches dental anesthesia to both the undergraduate class and anaesthesia residents in the graduate program.

Nicole Lui

Dental Hygiene

Nicole graduated from the Oxford College of Arts, Business and Technology in 2014. Through her services, she brings a fresh passion for providing oral health care and education. Prior to her entry into dental hygiene, she worked as a dental assistant for over 6 years. Nicole is dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest research in preventative oral health care. Her professionalism and commitment is noticeably reflected in her delivery of care. Nicole is bilingual in both English and Chinese and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
